What is dog daycare at Dancin’ Woofs?

Our mission is to provide your dog with a safe and healthy play environment to enrich their spirit, increase their social skills, offer an off-leash area to exercise their body, and give hours of play to stimulate their mind. Supervised by caring trainers, our daycare offers an educational alternative to being left home alone, with exercise, socialization, and opportunities to learn new skills while interacting with other dogs.

One day a week, minimum commitment:

At Dancin’ Woofs we provide the best environment for your dog to socialize and feel safe. Our playful environment is a result of dogs getting to know each other during repeated visits. This occurs by reducing the stress of meeting new and unfamiliar dogs everyday, no different from the increased comfort level you feel once you become more familiar with new friends. To ensure this, we ask that you make an initial 8-week commitment to the same day(s) each week.

Daycare overview

Your dog can be dropped off at the Training Center between 7:30-9:30 a.m. and picked up between 3:30-5:00 p.m. (if you need an earlier drop off or later pick up, please ask about options). Your dog’s day will consist of supervised play on agility equipment, jumping in and out of cool pools of water (during warm weather), or just running around with friends and playing with our trainers and fun toys.

Our Training & Daycare Facility offers 4,000 square feet of indoor space. It is equipped with 3/4” Tenderfoot flooring for cushioning your dog’s playing and 1,000 square feet of outdoor romping room. For three hours a day, most dogs* will play at our outdoor facility: “The Ranch” in Tumalo. All dogs will be secured with a harness while transported in the “Dancin’ Van” and taxied to our fenced outdoor area. Once your dog arrives back at the training center, they take a nap, get a treat, and then play until pick up time. Each dog gets a weekly report card.

Playing at The Ranch *To go to the ranch, your dog will need to have been at daycare for at least 4 weeks, be approved by their ability to listen to directions and have appropriate behavior skills in a larger environment.

Your dog's first day

Your dog needs to be dropped off first thing in the morning as their day starts at 7:45 a.m. In the afternoon, we ask that new dogs are the first ones to be picked up (to reduce the stress of seeing other dogs leave first), between 3:30-4:00 p.m.

Reservations: Required.

If your dog comes once a week, it is suggested to keep to that day. This helps with scheduling and increases the dog’s comfort level with their dog buddies. Cancellations with less than 24-hour notice will be charged full fees.

We do NOT OFFER DROP-IN SERVICE

for dogs that are not current clients. Our focus is on providing a consistent environment for the dogs, as they are most comfortable with familiar dogs and staff. New dogs can take up to a full day to integrate into daycare so a long-term and consistent commitment is best.

Other Basic Requirements:
AGE: 4 months or older.
SEX: Spayed/neutered over 6 months of age.
SHOTS: Bordatella (kennel cough), DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus), and rabies shot at 6 months.

SCREENING PROCESS

All dogs must pass a temperament test to assure that they are both dog, and people-friendly. It is important for the health and safety of all concerned that the dogs attending daycare do not have aggressive tendencies, show excessive shyness, are food or toy possessive, are overly protective of territory, or are stressed easily in new situations.

At the screening appointment your dog will be tested for attitude and human handling. This includes all four paws being picked up, petting all over your dog’s body, a big restraint hug, teeth and ear check, and to see how comfortable your dog is with this kind of touch both physically and emotionally. Dog screening will take place at the same time or the first morning that your dog comes to daycare. All new dogs need to be at daycare when we first open. Your dog will then be introduced to each dog in the existing pack one at a time. As the morning goes on they will then be introduced to 2, then 3, and so on, increasing the number of dogs with their comfort level.
